Hey, everybody! Thank you to all the veterans out there who have served our country so tirelessly. You are appreciated.
Time for the weekly reading and writing update. This past week I finished DESTINED FOR DOON by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon.
This was book two in the YA fantasy Doon series, which is set in a mythical land based on the stage play Brigadoon. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I did the first book, but I'm fully invested in the characters now and so will happily pick up the third book.
I've since started reading IN BETWEEN by Jenny B. Jones, a YA contemporary about a teenage girl in the foster system who is trying to get in trouble so she'll be sent back to the girls' home. I'm not very far along, but Jones's characters never fail to make me laugh out loud, and this book is no exception.
Has anyone read either of these books?
Now on to the writing. I only managed to add 4500 words to my work in progress this past week, so I'm getting behind for my goal of 30,000 words for the month. I'm not going to kill myself to get it done, but I need to increase the daily output. This will involve me writing first thing in the morning, because when I try to do it later in the day, it always falls apart. So, we shall see. Stay tuned!
Hope everyone has a blessed week!
